The Wakefield Cooperative Apartment Building, Atlanta, Georgia

Two of Brookwood’s founding principals, George and Shepherd Heery, served as the Development Principals and Construction Loan Guarantors for site acquisition, planning and overall development of The Wakefield, Atlanta’s first luxury cooperative.

Brookwood carried out the design as the Owner’s Design Consultant and provided full Development Management including the arrangement of financing, marketing and management of construction.

The project was completed in 16 months on schedule. There was only one contractor-initiated change order in the amount of $8,400 and no claims were brought against the Owner (Developer).

This project was carried out by the Bridging method.

Several post-construction issues were discovered and promptly corrected by the Contractor at no cost to the Developer or the residents of the building.
